The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Department reported a fatality car accident Friday evening near Eagle Mountain Lake in Northwest Tarrant County. A Fort Worth teen identified as 18 year old Connor Strouder, was killed Friday evening at a rural intersection near Eagle Mountain Lake around 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016, when his vehicle was struck on the driver’s side at the intersection of West Bonds Ranch Road and Morris Dido Newark Road, a rural three-way intersection near Eagle Mountain Lake in Northwest Tarrant County.
Sheriff’s Department spokesman Terry Grisham said that a preliminary investigation showed that the car accident occurred when the deceased teen’s vehicle was attempting a left hand turn at the intersection and was struck by a northbound pickup truck. Injuries to the pickup driver were not reported.
The teen was Care-flighted to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, where he was pronounced dead.

According to an data compiled in a 2008 investigation of hundreds of thousands of accident reports, conducted by the Department of Transportation and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, 36 percent (36%) of all car accidents involve vehicles that were making intersection turns or crossing at an intersection at the time of the accident.
